Landes Mecklenburg was a Third Reich era state (Gau) in North Germany on the Baltic Sea. Formerly a pair of Grand Duchies in the German Empire, and Federal states in the Weimar Republic, they were consolidated into the Landes Mecklenburg in 1934. It was bordered by the Gaue of Pomerania to its East; Brandenburg to its South; Hanover to its West; Schleshwig-Holstein, and the Baltic Sea to its North. Its capital was the city of Schwerin, and was home to the port city of Rostock. After the war it fell within the Soviet Occupation Zone and later the German Democratic Republic (DDR). Today it has been reconstituted as part of the the Federal State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, encompassing the whole of Germany's modern eastern Baltic Coast. Authentic historical artifacts documenting turbulent times. The last of these canceled certificates from the vaults of the former Reichsbank in Berlin were auctioned off by the German Federal Office for Central Services and Unresolved Property Issues (Bundesamt für zentrale Dienste und offene Vermögensfragen, BADV,) through Spink & Son of London, in November 2015. The BADV announced that this would be the final sale of its last remaining pre 1945 German government bonds from the famous 'Reichsbankschatz' hoard. These are the last of them. What you see is what you get. Appealing to scripophily collectors, historians, and educators alike, they're an interesting addition to Second World War and finance collections.
