Identification of the photo is taken from notations on the back, captions in a photo album, or from similar images in the same collection.From a photo album apparently belonging to Earl Drais Layman, who was born in Portland, Oregon, on August 22, 1916, and died on October 30, 2001 in Neskowin, Oregon. Mr. Layman was Seattle's first historic preservation officer, and helped to create the Columbia City, Ballard Avenue and Harvard Belmont historic districts, among others, and protected many historic buildings, including fire stations and schools. Mr. Layman received undergraduate degrees in social science and architecture from the University of Oregon, and earned a certificate in painting and history from the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Fontainbleau, France. SIZE: Approximately 3" x 2" for the larger one. CONDITION: VERY GOOD with some old glue and remnants of scrapbook paper on the back. Take note that condition refers to the paper, see the scans provided to judge the quality of the image itself.
