He enlisted on April 18 1942 and Received on Board the USS Spry PG 64 on June 25, 1942. US Spry was a Patrol Gunboat with 87 men. He was onboard when the USS Spry along with the USS Erie were attacked by U-Boat 163 while with convoy to Guantanamo Bay. USS Erie was sunk by torpedoes from U-Boat 163. If anything written on back I will have a pic of the back in the listing.
