Description: 1940s Lambda Tau Delta Fraternity Pin In Solid Two-Tone Solid 10K Gold From Fenn College w/ Pearls & Swords 3.3g Details: Small 18mm (3/4") solid gold pin / pendant from late 1940s with initials on back, 3.3 grams. Pin is made of both white and yellow gold, it also has a very small loop for a chain or charm (1mm diameter). The main body and realistic miniature swords are white gold, the central triangular shield and scrolls are yellow gold. Gold tested and verified to be solid 10K purity or higher. 12 tiny seed pearls are tastefully inset along the fine detailed decorated edges. The center is a shield in black enamel with a tiny red stone as the flame of the gold torch. There is a small area of enamel loss above the "T" that is noticeable only under magnification. Prior owner's initials are inscribed on the back, a student from Fenn College in Cleveland Ohio in 1949. The Greek letters appear to be Lambda Tau Delta. This small lapel pin / brooch has a rotating latch and stick pin that works properly. Marked "10K" on the back. Tested and verified as solid 10K gold, not filled or plated. Red stone material unknown. Comes in a nice paperboard gift box with a square of protective padding.
