This is a detailed plastic house bank with a 1920s patent no. 1,458,146. It was produced by the Chicago Thrift Co. The house is 3" tall and 4" x 2-1/2" at the base. The bottom of the bank is metal and I do not have the key. A metal tag across the front says "Clinton Federal Savings and Load Association Clinton OH" and a similar tag across the back says "Save for a purpose". The bank is the form of a house or building. Some of the painted sections are worn off. The bank itself is complete and intact.Though it may have an 1920's patent number, plastic was not invented until the 1940's.
