In 1926, 2 Texas beauties competed for top honors in a contest. One was a winner, the other was runner-up. One went to NY and the stage. The other stayed in Texas. Later, they both came to Hollywood. The one who went to NY is Joan Blondell, who made fame and fortune in the films. The other, Mrs Dixie Blocker, is a waitress in a fashionable Hollywood hotel. That's Hollywood. Above, Mrs Blocker is shown as she appeared in Court where she was parted by divorce from Vay T. Blocker, wealthy TX oil man. She testified that Blocker was insanely jealous, that he beat her and did not support her. Photo measures 6.5 x 8.75 inches. Photo is dated 10-18-1938.
