Description: A nice naval cover mailed from the U.S.S. New York, a U.S. battleship. Franked with United States Scott #702, the 2¢ Red Cross stamp from 1931. The stamp is tied to the cover by a three-bar U.S.S. New York postmark dated December 22, 1931. The U.S.S. New York was used in Operations Crossroads, the Bikini Island nuclear weapons tests in 1946.
