1930s Womens Pink Striped Silk Blouse Puffed Sleeves Covered Buttons Peplum XS

Description: When I was in college in the early 1970s, a friend gave me a number of articles of clothing that he had inherited from his aunt. She had been a madam in one of Nevada's legal brothels for many years, and as you can imagine, she had an amazing wardrobe. Many of the items I was given dated from the 1930s, when she had been in her twenties. I wore them for years, but eventually ended up donating the best pieces to our state museum clothing collection and selling the rest. This is the last piece of clothing I have left from that gift. It is a pale pink striped satin blouse with a stand-up band collar with a tie, short puffed sleeves that are banded on the bottom, and a defined waistline with a peplum. The front of the blouse closes with self fabric round buttons and snaps at the top and the waist. The front panels of the blouse are set on the bias, as you can see in the pictures. As with most of the clothing in the collection, this item was hand made for the owner. I was a size 1 or 3 when I wore it way back when. The bust measures 38 inches, shoulder to shoulder is 15.5 inches, and the waist is 28 inches. This piece of clothing is in amazing shape for its age. There is a small hole in the left front of the peplum and a couple of tiny holes in the left back of the peplum. They have been there as long as I have had it, and do not interfere with its attractiveness or its utility. The last two pictures show these flaws - the front one looks dark because of the color of my dress dummy - over something light colored, it is not very noticeable. From a non-smoking home.
