Description: Wow. This is an amazing very hard to find 1930s, perhaps early 40s, oilcloth red plaid COAT (not the usual hooded rain cape that is found in oilcloth and cotton), matching hat, matching umbrella, and we've paired it with a pair of 1940s-50s rubber boots. This red plaid fabric print was very popular with 1930s-40s Molley'es brand rain capes, it was also seen in the 1920s-1930s-1940s Effanbee Patsy Family & in Effanbee Skippy doll School Days trunk set. It is often associated with Ideal's Shirley Temple doll and it is also seen as a hooded raincape in 1950s (in cotton) Effanbee Honey walker doll trunk sets. This oilcloth COAT is extremely hard to find especially with the matching hat. We believe this is a Skippy doll raincoat set because it was sold with another Skippy doll military ensemble that we kept for our personal Effanbee collection (we have another raincoat set already). The oilcloth is a bit stiff and I did not want to re-button the coat. It came to us buttoned and we un-buttoned it to relieve the stress on the garment. There is a teensy tear on the end of one button hole, see pic. The coat has such cute details and has its matching belt with metal buckle. It has 3 red buttons (one is beneath the lapel fold). The coat measures: 8 1/4 inches long 5 inches long sleeves 5 1/2 inches FLAT measured shoulder to shoulder 5 1/2 inches FLAT measured underarm to underarm The umbrella has some discoloration on the inside from the metal, see pics. It opens, but we didn't want to open it all the way and secure the latch due to its age. We will let the customer decide to take that risk. We do have several of these umbrellas in our personal collections and they do hold up very well! The umbrella is oilcloth, metal, and wood. The umbrella measures: 10 1/2 inches long We forgot to measure the opened diameter. The hat measures approximately 4 inches diameter head opening apprx 6 1/2 inches diameter outer brim apprx 3 inches tall from head seam to crown The boots are embossed with a pattern resembling a cow pattern, that's the best we can describe it. We believe these are 1940s-1950s. They are rubber and very flexible. There is a teensy hole or bubble from manufacturing? on one sole, see pic. And a hole on the back of one boot, see pic. There is a small rectangles of non-sticky adhesive residue on the back of each boot from perhaps a manufacturer's tag? We only noticed it in the photographs when we were editing them. Boots measure: 3 inches high 3 1/8 inches long sole 1 1/2 inches wide across sole/toe 1 1/4 inches wide across center sole 1 inch wide across heel sole aprx 2 1/4 inches diameter opening, but boots narrow toward the calf This will be shipped in a BOX. Look for Farmhouse Favorites on Facebook for sneak peeks of listings, bonus gift info, and other free, fun Dolly stuff! What does FLAT MEASURED mean? We measure the garment laying flat so we are only measuring the front width. For the entire measurement of the garment around the waist, around the bodice, etc, double the measurement listed. Measure around your doll with a flexible tape measure for the best results. For example, a 4 inch flat measured waist is approximately 8 inches around the entire garment, so a doll of no bigger than an 8 inch waist could wear that item. All props, furniture, backgrounds, doll modeling item for auction unless specified as part of the auction/or the auction item, mannequins, doll stands, etc are NOT for sale. SHIPPING Q & A We ship calculated USPS shipping. USPS rules state if the mailer is over 1/4 of an inch thick it is considered a package. Package dimensions, package weight, and the zone of the shipping destination are all figured into the postage pricing system. The USPS base package price starts at $5.00 (1-4 oz). We have a $2 handling fee per lot. We combine shipping on orders. Combined shipping involves repacking your items into a single mailer, weighing and measuring the package, entering the shipping info into the Ebay calculated shipping system (integrated with the USPS system), and then adding our $2 handling fee per lot onto the shipping total (So, if you order 2 lots, handling is $4, etc). Your savings comes from the reduction in the weight of the package due to shipping 1 mailer opposed to X mailers. The easiest way to combine shipping is to put everything in the cart, buy it now, and we will refund the overage in shipping once we pack/calculate your purchases. This package weighs 15 oz.
