Description: 1930-40s Monmouth Unmarked Western Navajo Diamond Pattern Stoneware Pottery Bowl with Lid This vintage preowned stoneware pottery crock is from the mid 1930s to 1940s and was made by Monmouth Pottery. It is an old crockery bowl that features a Southwestern America pattern from the Navajo with the diamond pattern. It is in very good condition and which seems appropriate based on this items use, age and history. There are imperfections here and there throughout this piece, on the lid and on and in the bowl. These are mainly processing imperfections. There is crazing throughout but this piece has a very nice glaze and the crazing appears to be mainly deeper in the layers of glaze. The outside bottom has a little chunk taken out. It looks like the the mixture didn't hold in that tiny section. On the outside bottom there is also a little piece of remainder that became attached. We do not see any large scale chips or cracks. There are no fractures. The color is shadings of browns and tans and it has a very nice shiny glaze. This piece measures approximately 5.5" tall with the lid (a little over 3.5" tall without the lid) and is 8.5" wide. The depth is about 3.5". Truly, this is a nice, heavy (over 3 lbs), substantial piece of kitchen pottery that can be enjoyed for many years.
