Description: An original 6" x 10" photograph of men playing a game of checkers. We believe these men to be prisoners at Auburn Prison. The exact prison is open for debate, but that is our best guess (this photo was found in a group of ephemera from the Auburn, New York area). The photo is dated "1927". There are four names written on the back of the photo: E. G. Murray, John Fulton, Edward Rourke, and Cornelius (Killaher?). A quick search of Auburn Prison records returned a match for E G. Murray and John Fulton, but not the other two. There was not date of incarceration listed in the records, so we are not certain that these are the same people, but we suspect they are. Please note that the edges and a couple of the corner of the photograph are very worn. Please review the preceding condition description box and photo gallery. The photograph will be shipped well protected. We combine shipping.
