Description: DENISON'S VAUDEVILLE SKETCHES "LISTEN, LOUIE" SCRIPT BOOKLET - (c) 1927 T.S. Denison & Co. 4.75" x 7". 12 pages. This booklet is one in a series of scripts issued during the days of the 1920's vaudeville & minstrel shows. These stage acts usually were based on eccentric ethnic dialect humor. The script we are offering, "Listen, Louie", is a German talking act for two men - a chronic borrower & an unwilling lender. Other ethnic scripts are listed inside, some quite offensive in nature - "Yulius Yensen, Yanitor" (Swedish dialect), "Levi's Troubles" (Jewish dialect), "Just-a Lak-a Dat" (Italian dialect), "Uncle Tom's Cabin" Burlesque, etc. We offer this item as a historic piece of original Ethnic Americana. Condition is considered FAIR with miscellaneous surface/stain/edge wear. Extensive surface/edge creasing with scattered minor edge tears (largest tear is approx. 3/8"). Approx. 1/4" spine edge separation. Despite obvious crease defects, we feel this is still a displayable & serviceable example by most standards (see photos).
