The marriage at the Pro-Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in Paris of Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Payne Whitney of New York to Miss Mary Norton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sheridan S. Norton also of New York. The wedding was a quiet affair only members of the bride and groom's family attending. Dean Frederick W. Beekman officiated. The witnesses were Miss Barbara Whitney, sister of the bridegroom, acting for the bride and Mr. Harry Payne Whitney, signing as a witness for his son and Mrs. Norton and Mrs. Whitney, the mothers of the couple. The bride was exquisitely gowned in the customary white bridal robe embroidered in crystal and pearls, her headdress was of diamante and pearl embroidered lace with a veil of tulle. Only a few intimate friends of the couple were present and after an informal wedding breakfast was given at the Hotel Brighton after which the couple left on their honeymoon in Italy.Photo measures 6 x 7.75inches.
