F.; single sheet folded twice into 8 panels measuring (14 inches by 6-1/2 inches OPEN) and (6-1/2 inches by 3-1/2 inches CLOSED); A beautifully designed cover; 4 photographic illustrations; 1 map; Miami Lodge was located eight miles southwest of the Mariposa Grove of Big Trees. The map shows the "Horseshoe Route," an automobile service between Merced and Miami Lodge. CONDITION: Very good PLUS [see scans]. SECURITY: ARGUS BOOKS [or other wording] in PINK may have been super-imposed over the images for security or informational reasons and are not on the actual item. HISTORY: In 1913 Edwin T. Huffman moved his operations to the MIAMI LODGE, a location better situated for automobile traffic. It was very popular with auto tourists and his repair garage did a big business. This enterprise ceased about 1934 due to the new Highway 41. NOTE: A similar brochure [Same cover, but for 1923] was offered by Pacific Book Auction Sale 599: Americana and the National Parks - Native American Art & Artifacts on 10/20/2016 with an estimated value of $200-$300 and it sold (Including Buyers Premium) for $120.00 [Only one copy listed at OCLC].
