Description: This Is a hand cut strip card of the Detroit Tiger second baseman Ralph "Pep" Young. It was issued by the International Feature Service in 1920 and sold in strips of cards in candy and grocery stores. The individual cards, like this one, were cut from those strips. It was sent to PSA for authentication, encapsulation and grading. It was authenticated and given a grade of "Authentic". It is one of just sixteen of these cards encapsulated by PSA. Below Mr. Young's name in the lower left corner originally was his position, "2nd B" and in the lower right-hand corner was his team, "Detroit". There are stains on the reverse of the card, see photo. This card is number 28 in the series of 30 cards. Mr. Young played for the New York Yankees in 1913, the Detroit Tigers from 1915-1921, and the Philadelphia Athletics in 1922. After his playing career, he coached college baseball in Philadelphia, at Temple from 1932-1942 and at Saint Joseph's from 1948-1955.
