And don't forget, you can click this link to quickly add and then save me to your favorite seller list and Ebay will automatically send you updates when I put similar new auctions online. Here's a Tecla 30 radio manufactured in Detroit, Michigan by Thomas E. Clark, a pioneer of early wireless sets. It's a large, unusually configured radio, with a drawbridge-style front gate, a double-slide tuner whose controls are mounted on a vertical wood panel, and an all-brass crystal detector. The radio is complete, correct, and in very good condition throughout. And it still works, as you can see in the video I've posted above. Clean panel that retains all of its original binding post nuts, hard rubber knobs and brass pointers; an undamaged case that retains its original carrying handle; no missing or damaged brass cabinet hardware, a tightly wound tuner; a complete, functional detector; the original instruction sheet affixed to the interior of the front gate; no missing slabs of leatherette covering on the case, etc. The radio comes with its original Pico headphones, which were also made in Detroit. Like the radio, the headphones are working. Shipping weight, properly packed, will be about 12 lb. If you want to operate the radio, you'll need a longwire outdoor antenna (120 feet long and 20 feet off the ground), a good indoor ground connection that runs at least 2 feet into the earth outside, and some patience as you adjust the detector to find a hot spot. In the video above, the radio is connected to a Magnavox AC-3 amplifier (powered by an ARBEIII), and an Amplion Dragon horn speaker. You are buying only the radio and its headphones. I used the amp and loudspeaker to demonstrate the functionality of the radio, which typically would be used with a headset. The radio will of course work with the Pico headphones that are included.I'm one of ebay's best known, most highly regarded sellers of antique radios, and I specialize in radios from the 1920's. I've been selling and shipping them for more than 25 years. When you purchase an antique radio from me, you'll receive a radio that arrives safely because it's been carefully packed (by me, not by some well-intentioned but nonetheless confounded, doe-eyed teenager working at the UPS store who wouldn't know a phonograph from a farm tool), Sure, you can probably get a lower price from Joe and Janet Barn-Find, but when your "bargain" arrives broken, and without any hint of how you might be able to put it back together, you'll realize that you really do get exactly what you pay for.
