Each coin features an image right facing profile of a Native American Indian, with lettering on right: Liberty with date (1920-S on one-faint with mint mark "S" on reverse, and 1923 on the other-faint) at bottom. The reverse features and image of the Buffalo (bison), above is lettering: United States of America with E Pluribus Unum, and bottom FIVE CENTS (below the mound).
