Description: Balloon Section of the American Expeditionary Forces, published in 1919 describing the US contributions by balloons in WWI. 286 pages packed with photos, illustrations and lists of aeronauts in different companies. The books is signed by (and apparently owned by) Ronald Lanch Corliss, who is listed on the roster for The Fifteenth Company on page 156. He has also marked some of the other people in his company in pencil. Also with an original typed letter "To all Men of the Balloon Section" from the authors, which discusses the book and how to order it. Offered at a steep discount due to condition (see below), but a nice association and research copy and a plethora of information on this interesting military component, and somewhat scarce. Binding is in poor condition with front cover detached, much of spine missing, and about half the gatherings separated or loose. Pages seem to be complete and in good condition, with occasional pencil annotation.
