The covers show some fading. There is only slight bumping at the edges. The joints and hinges are very good with light cracking of the hinges of the 1st book. The bindings are tight. All pages are attached. They are edged in gold on 3 sides. The inside fronts have writing "To Harold from Harry, Feb. 15-1921. There are no tears, no dog ears, and no inner handwriting. There are 1253 numbered pages in addition to the plates. It includes a full index. Each volume is 9 inches by 6 1/4 inches. The set totals about 11 pounds in weight.
