Description: The Oregon Washington Railroad & Transportation Company (OR&N) was a network of 1,143 miles, running east from Portland, Oregon to northeastern Oregon, northeastern Oregon and northern Idaho. It traces its roots to 1860. The Union Pacific Railroad (UP) purchased a majority stake in 1898 and formally absorbed the OR&N into the UP system in 1936. Items from the OR&N are seldom found, but I offer for sale an employee pass dated 1912. It was issued to the spouse of an agent of the railroad. The pass measures appx 4 x 2 1/2 inches and is printed on thick cardstock.
