Description: The Oregon Short Line Railroad Company (OSL) was organized in 1881 as a subsidiary of the Union Pacific Railroad (UP). It served portions or Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Wyoming and Washington and was a short route from Wyoming to Oregon and the Pacific Southwest. Following bankruptcy and a reorganization, the OSL became part of the UP system in 1898. The OSL was fully merged into the UP in 1987. The Oregon Washington Railroad & Transportation Company (OR&N) was a network of 1,143 miles, running east from Portland, Oregon to northeastern Oregon, northeastern Oregon and northern Idaho. he Union Pacific Railroad (UP) purchased a majority stake in 1898 and formally absorbed the OR&N into the UP system in 1936. The pas measures appx 4 x 2 1/2 inches and is printed on thick cardstock. It is in excellent condition, with no rips, tears or folds; all writing/markings are from its issuance and processing.
