Red cloth boards scuffed at edges and worn/bumped at corners. Head and tail of spine lacking, binding exposed & red cloth frayed. Spine toned from sun-exposure, gilt lettering dulled, but legible. Front and rear gutters beginning to split. Light toning around edges of leaves throughout text-block. Some instances of finger-soiling. Binding is intact, hinges fragile. Please see photos. Walter Frederick Roope Tyndale (1855-1943) was a British watercolorist of landscapes, architecture and street scenes, book illustrator and travel writer. He was one of the first illustrators to benefit from new developments in color printing in the early 20th century, which led to a surge in demand for illustrations for travel books.
