This copy is numbered 28 and is printed on Hollande van Gelder paper. In the original French. This poetry collection is notable for its illustrations by Gleizes as Roger Allard was at the forefront of celebrating new French painters who concentrated on form rather than colour. Gleizes is known as the self-proclaimed founder of Cubism and this work demonstrates this style. The binding to this work is delicate in nature and therefore some of the gatherings have nearly failed. The pages remain extremely bright. An important example of early cubism, printed before Gleizes' major treatise was published. CONDITION In the original paper wraps. Externally, the front and rear wraps are detached but present. The backstrip has also detached. Internally, binding is loosening in places. Pages are bright. Occasional light spots to pages.
