Description: Original 1910 postcard drawn by Seattle Times cartoonist John "Dok" Hager and featuring Seattle eccentric Robert W. Patten, known as "Umbrella Man" because he walked around town with an umbrella on his head. This listing is for the card in which Patten says "Perch aint bitin' this kind o' weather, nor hens aint layin' so you kin notice it, but we've got clams to fall back on." The card has minor wear at the corners from having been housed in a postcard album (not glued in, but held down by corners). Please see our other listings for additional cards from this series. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Postcards will ship via first-class letter, which does not come with tracking. We are happy to combine shipping on purchases of multiple items. If you are purchasing more than one postcard (or other item), please wait to pay until we send an invoice so we may make the necessary adjustment to your shipping charge. All items are guaranteed as described and returnable for any reason within 30 days of receipt. Questions? Don't hesitate to ask.
