Description: For sale, a TOUGHER TOWN TO FIND...ANTIQUE BELIEVE CIRCA 1910'S....SCARCE HIGHER RARITY IN HEMPHILL CATALOG old "good for" style trade token which actually is "GOOD FOR 5C IN TRADE" at a business called " CHAMBER OF COMMERCE", which was located in old town of HILLSBORO, OREGONTHIS TOWN GOES WAY BACK TO 1876....AND ORIGINAL OWNER THOUGHT THIS MIGHT BE ONE OF THOSE OLD CLEVER NAME FOR A POOL HALL OR BAR....AS IN "HONEY...I WILL BE LATE TONIGHT AS I HAVE A MEETING AT THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE"....BUT, THE BOOK DOES NOT SAY, SO VERY POSSIBLE IT WAS USED AT THE TOWNS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (the catalog does not provide details)This comes out of a lifetime "town collection" and antique Oregon trade tokens.....only one in the collection from the town of "HILLSBORO" Oregon....watch for future town listings The historic 1876 town of Cornelius is located in Washington County in the Tualatin Valley region...not far from Forest Grove, Cornelius and Wilkesboro OregonTrade token is aluminum metal, 4 lobed, about 28mm in diameter ,and it displays very nicely.
