REID PRESCRIPTION SPECIALISTS (DRUG STORE) - TABLE - WINE GLASS - TEA (standard marks on other side)" in 1910 era , issued for the historic town of BERKELEY, CALIFORNIATHIS IS A RARE DOSE GLASS....AND IS NOT EVEN LISTED IN MILLER CATALOG, BUT IT BELONGED TO AUTHOR....BELIEVE IT WAS A LATE ADDITION TO HIS CATALOG...HE CONSIDERED THIS EXTREMELY RARE......IN DOING THE RESEARCH, THE TOYNTON CATALOG SHOWS THAT REID'S DRUG STORE OPERATED AROUND 1910 IN BERKELEYBELIEVE THIS DOSE GLASS IS EARLY, AND A RARE TOWN, ORIGINAL OWNER CONSIDERED IT "EXTREMELY RARE" AND HE WOULD KNOW...CAME OUT OF THE AUTHOR'S COLLECTION...IT DOES A LITTLE ROUGH PATCH ON LIP (SEE GALLERY) WHICH IS SHALLOW, AND COULD BE BLENDED AS THIS HAS THICKER GLASS....DISPLAYS WELL .....IT HAS CRISP EMBOSSING, AND IS LIGHT CLEAR COLORED, BUT HAS THE AGE, COULD POSSIBLY TURN DARKER PURPLE IF LEFT IN SUNLIGHT....JUST A BEAUTY...BELIEVE FROM THE 1910- 1918 ERA....This is a beautiful and believe scarce old "BERKELEY" CALIFORNIA issued "DOSE GLASS" .....This comes out of a lifetime collection of California dose glasses , where original owner collected dose glasses from all over state of California...here is a stunning representative from "BERKELEY CALIFORNIA" in that collection...(again.....this is completely unlisted)These old western drug store "dose glasses" are flat out tough to find today......note this was used at 2 locations in BerkeleyTHIS DOSE GLASS DISPLAYS WONDERFULLY, EMBOSSING IS CRISP & NICE, ..DISPLAYS WELL, NICE COLOR, VERY SHARP PC. This dose glass is what I would call a clear colored glass, it stands about 2 5/8" tall ...and it is a very nice specimen, as mentioned has a little shallow damage on the lip (see gallery) but could be blended as it is shallow and glass is pretty thick ..THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL SPECIMEN, took pictures from all angles and in different lighting conditions to show glass, ...Has the age and would likely turn darker purple if left in sunGallery pictures should show you all you need to know, took pictures from many angles.Nice AND BEAUTIFUL, DRUG STORE MEDICINE "DOSE GLASS", ANTIQUE, EXTREMELY RARE UNLISTED WHITE LETTER STYLE ISSUED BY "THE AMERICAN PHARMACY" .......from historic town of BERKELEY, CALIFORNIAAll my dose glasses are carefully packed in bubble wrap and oversized rigid box to make sure they get to you as you see them :) Thanks so much for looking....collect and invest in history!!!!!
