Description: 18th century lead plaquette KING CHARLES I wearing armour - very rare & interesting oval shaped plaque! This undated 17th or more likely 18th century oval-shaped plaquette is made of lead, weighs almost 66g and measures 7.5 inches x 5.25 inches. I have never seen anything like this type before and seems to feature the bust of King Charles I looking right and wearing armour. I assume it’s Charles I due to the crowned C monogram cypher seen on the left-hand lower side of the bust. This is an extremely rare and interesting plaquette and would make quite a talking point for collectors. Condition: Collector’s well struck grade with signs of wear and minor surface marks as seen.
