Description: A wonderful, early American tilt top tea table. This table has a three board square top, with hand carved unique edge molding and interesting notched corners. The tilt top is held down by an original catch lock. The stem of this table has a reeded urn design, sitting on three cabriole legs with snake feet. The knees are interestingly carved with palmetto leaves which would attribute this table to the American south, specifically the Carolinas. The original hand forged table spider is still attached to where the legs meet the base. Note the early hand made screws & rose head hand made nails . This is a fabulous tea table, that has aged very well over the years. Approx.
