Description: This is a beautiful custom designed one of a kind 18K gold Green Tourmaline ring. The stone has been carved by Michael Dyber. He is world renowned for his optically carved gemstones. His work is in private and museum collections. You combine the stone with a Master Goldsmith, Richard Divine, and you create a powerful creative collaboration. The Tourmaline has been carved with channels and has a very organic feel. The carved bowls and sides of the wall create reflections that remind me of bubbles in ocean water. The ring design allows you to see inside to the gemstone. The soft curves suggest waves. The ring is very comfortable because Richard Devine designs with an angled ring band that allows you to slip past your knuckle and have a more secure fit. When I look with the naked eye, I can see a small inclusion and the stone appears clear. A loop reveals more like tiny fibers and it really reminds me of ocean water. The outside surfaces are smooth and polished and there are no chips or cracks. As far as technical details, I am no gemologist. However, consider the source, Michael Dyber and how he invested his time in this particular gemstone.The measurements were to the best of my ability with a ruler and a scale.
