Description: 1897 G.A.R. 21st ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT NEW HAMPSHIRE VETERANS ASSN. THE WEIRS BADGE This listing is for a vintage Civil War, G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic) badge & ribbon. The red ribbon has silver tone accents and lettering and back top edge has silver tone lettering that reads: WHITEHEAD & HOAG & CO, BADGE MAKERS NEWARK, N.J. The front of the ribbon has a silver tone top border design with a center 5-point star. Below is an overlay of a tiny red, white and blue stars & stripes American flag with metal thread center loop. The lettering below reads: 21st ANNUAL ENCAMPMENT NEW HAMPSHIRE VETERANS' ASSO'N., THE WEIRS, AUG. 31-Sept. 3, 1897. Suspended below the ribbon is a 1-3/4" diameter badge with brass tone edge and a center image of William Ide Brown, marked below: CAMP WM. I. BROWN.
