Description: Here's a nice, little 7/8" cello button from the 1896 presidential campaign promoting republican candidate William McKinley in a design with a gold background. That's because one of the biggest campaign issues was whether or not you supported gold or silver as the basis for coinage; the republicans supported gold while the democrats promoted silver. Consequently, many buttons with his democrat opponent, William Jennings Bryan, had a silver background. We believe it's from his first campaign, but we've been wrong before - just ask our wife. This is in nice condition but please look at our images to judge condition for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. It may have light surface wear/scratches as found on most all older pinbacks. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence. We'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases even though eBay says we don't. We just issue a refund for any overpayment. Shipping on this will be $5.50, carefully packed with tracking. 8884
