Description: I have here for sale a book entitled ON SUNNY SHORES by Clinton Scollard, illustrated by Margaret Landers Randolph, and published by Gay & Bird, London, 1894. This book is a travelogue, interspersed with verse by the author, that takes readers from England through parts of Europe and into Syria. Contents includes Wanderings Down the Wye, From Haven Cottage, Ambleside, An Isle of Wight Pilgrimage, A Tramp Down the Neckar, Tarrying in the Tyrol, Crossing the Splugen, Idling at Bellaggio, To Merry Milan, Viewing Verona, Glimpses of Greece, and Syrian Silhouettes. Text is accompanied by many illustrations of scenic landscapes, cities, and architecture. Bound in green hardboards with gilt lettering to front board and spine, and green and gilt illustration to front board. Front board has a white mark down it. Bumped and chipped to head and tail of spine. Front and rear hinge is split and the back board and spine covering are detaching from the binding block. Binding slightly pulling. Pages clean. Page 77 is partially torn with part of the chapter heading missing.
