Description: This is an 1892 Barber quarter, first year of this coin! LI-TY easily seen on the obverse. The detail of the wreath is a little weak, so we'll have to look at the reverse to feel good! Lots of eagle wing feather detail and most of 'E Pluribus Unum' is visible. Nice! Check the pics and buy with 100% confidence! FREE SHIPPING!! and thanks for looking! Barber took this opportunity to make a few other changes that were more readily visible. The stars above the eagle were reconfigured, and the eagle's right wingtip (viewer's left) covers most of the letter E, while on the earlier hub it covered less than half. There is no great difference in rarity between the two subtypes, as the nominally scarcer Type 1 was the more likely to be saved for the simple reason that it was the first one encountered by a curious public. Due to its generous mintage, the 1892 Philadelphia Mint quarter dollar is rich in varieties. There are numerous doubled dies for either side. Most are too minor to attract much interest, but the better varieties are recognized by NGC under its VarietyPlus Service, as are the reverse hub subtypes.
