Description: Here I have an 1891 Argentine Mauser carbine barrel in 7.65x53 Argentine, length is 17.5 inches. Overall condition is fair/good. Minimal rust noted on the exterior but wear on the bluing is present. The bore is in quite nice condition from what I can see, with clear lands and grooves. However, I would highly recommend a thorough cleaning. This is missing both the rear site and front site...kind of. It looks as though the previous owner grinded off the front sight as you can still see remnants of the set screw in place. With some ingenuity, this can be removed and the damaged front sight can be taken off of the barrel to make way for a new one. The previous owner also seems to have removed this barrel with a vise as gouges can be seen just behind where the rear sight would go. Serial number is still intact, as are manufacturer/inspection marks. Threads are clean and deep, installation should go pretty smooth. Pitting is present on some parts of the barrel where the hand guard would typically go, this is not uncommon for this line of rifles given the climate they were stored in. I have no doubt that this poses no issue to the overall safety of the barrel as the one that is currently installed on my 1891 has similar pitting and I've put over 100 rounds through it. As always, please inspect all pictures carefully as what you see is exactly what you will receive. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out. Also, I'm open to offers as I understand not many of these barrels are floating around. This one is functionally great but cosmetically fair; I'm willing to work out a deal.
