Description: This listing is for an early illustrated printing of "The Night Before Christmas," undated dated but known to be circa1890. Unusual and scarce, the book is printed entirely on soft canvas and features wonderful Victorian illustrations on every page (most of these illustrations where used on the covers of later Christmas publications by the publisher). The book measures 7.5 x 10 inches with 14 pages, including the inside covers. The front and rear covers plus 5 pages are full color chromolithographs. This 131 year old book is in very condition overall. The covers are still attached and show some staining and wear around the edges, though surprisingly nice for a softcover of this age. The pages have some light stains, as well, and are a bit dog eared, but still very nice with vibrant colors. They are all still attached to the binding.
