Description: Cabinet photo circa 1890's of the actor P. C. David Chapman as "Damon". The area behind the actor has a somewhat mottled appearance in the photo. It appears that the cloth backdrop on the stage was turned around backwards. There is what looks to be wording to the left of the figure which is unreadable. The backdrop cloth appears to be reversed in the photo giving the appearance that we are looking through the back of the backdrop cloth at the reversed wording. The front border at the bottom right of the mat has a printed photographer's marking "M. & W. E. Greenlee 2823 N. Fourth Street Philadelphia, Pa." The front of the mat has chips at two corners & a bit of wear to the edges as well as some age toning. The back of the mat has some minor thin scuffs off of the backing at the edges. The mat size is 6 1/2" by 4 1/4". The pics clearly show the exact condition. The reference number for this item is #4784.
