1890s Silk two piece Victorian mourning black Bodice and skirt with embroidery

Description: This beautiful two-piece antique 1890s set includes the silk bodice and matching skirt. The bodice is adorned along the collar and center front with lace and jet beads. The interior is in good condition with minimal issues and the original boning. Some of the beads are missing or just colored with a chalky residue. There are hooks and eyes up the center front that are all in working condition. There is a belt that fastens at the center front waist. The skirt is very heavy and is trimmed with a gathered black silk ribbon. The skirt is longer in the back than it is in the front and there is some unique construction and hooks to accommodate a bustle. The ribbon about midway up the skirt is coming undone in the front. There is some light shattering of the silk waistband at the center back closure. The eye piece of the waist closure is missing. This piece is fragile and should only be delicately worn.
