Description: We are offering an antique circa 1890's Crow Indian tobacco bag, sinew sewn on deer hide, elongated three tab style form beaded on both sides with triangular, linear and rectangular geometric elements. Bead colors include whiteheart red, pale blue, dark blue, greasy green, white and a rainbow of others in the multi-color panels on each side. Attached to the body on both sides just above the beaded decoration and to the bottom of the tabs are a series of tin cones, each containing shocks of red dyed horsehair; some of the cones have been flashed with a red or gold tint. Measures 27" x 6". In very good condition. All original, no alterations or repairs. There are several periodic small rows of bead loss to the trim at the opening, a couple of rows of bead loss to the side trim on one side, a few rows of multi-color bead loss to the lower left of one panel, a loose row of pale blue beads to the right hand top of of the middle tab. The hide is soft and supple, no stiffness. The drawstring is present and attached by a piece of thread. Very solid overall. Please study the photos as they are a part of the description.
