Description: Up for bid is a very large framed photograph. In the frame it is 22 1/2 x 19 1/2" The photo and matting is 15 x 18" and the circular image is 8 3/4" diameter. It is marked or signed on both the front and the back C. Vandyk studio. Carl VanDyk was a very well know famous London photographer. His studio on Gloucester road was there from 1882 to 1900. His took photos of the royal family as well as photos for the Aristocrats and royalty from other countries. I am not sure who the subject of this photograph is but the back is marked ??? Stewart/Stuart which could be any number of royalty or aristocrat at that time period. No doubt someone will know exactly who she is. Very nice solid clear photograph. Original wood frame with gold trim. Wood backing and original square nails . Beautiful photo by a famous photographer. No reserve.
