This work contains a list of all people condemned by Lord Chief Justice Jefferies in September 1685, details on the names of 331 hanged in different parts of Somerset, Dorset, and Devon; 850 sold for slaves in America; and 480 who were fined, whipped, continued in prison, &c.With historical notes and a chronological register of remarkable events relating to the town of Taunton.With three leaves of publisher's advertisements to the rear. CONDITION In the original publisher's quarter cloth binding over paper covered boards. Externally smart with minor shelf wear, minor bumping to head and tail of spine, previous ownership inscription to front board and front pastedown dated 1901. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
