Measuring 8" by 6-1/2" at about 439 pages, exterior boards are linen covered in chocolate brown with gilded letters, marbleized page edges and filled with black and white illustrations on the heavy pulp paper pages. Written as a way to inspire and motivate children (mostly boys) to take a more just path in life, author was John Fraser - published by W.M. PATTERSON & CO. - sold by subscription only. Condition is very nice exterior spine edge rubbing, fraying and wear - points have softening, marbleizing is faded, interior pages are toned and front and back will open flat with paper separation exposing the linen underneath - does not detract - no missing pages or loss. Black and white illustrations are wonderful - I read a few pages of the book - the intro is a HOOT.
