Covers and spine have some age-related toning and wear, and tears along the edges. Some pencil inscriptions at the beginning of the volume from a previous owner. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Hinges are worn, but pages remain attached with support throughout. Illustrations have some toning, but are otherwise in good condition and clear to see. Randolph Caldecott was an English illustrator considered to be one of the most influential children’s illustrators of the nineteenth century. His brother, Alfred, worked with him on this volume to translate Aesop’s fables from the Greek.
