Articles about fashion, poems, needlework patterns. games, in very good condition Item 483588 ◊ 1883, March., The Young Ladies Journal - Illustrated, Fashion, Family, Reading, etc. Rare and fascinating "1883, March, The Young Ladies Journal- Illustrated, Fashion, Family, Reading, etc." This magazine was published monthly over a two year period (1882-1883), but the Publisher is not stated. Their logo at the top of the first page shows an incredibly intricate design … a weaving of branches and flowing vines intertwining, apparently a perfect place for a butterfly as well. This Edition contains 16 pages and measures approximately 12-1/2” x 8-5/8”. Naturally it contains lots of articles and stories for women. But it also includes fashion engravings. Within the pages you'll see girls showing off a variety of ensembles, including accessories and hairstyles. And of course several of the stories come with accompanying engravings. Then there are some needlework patterns. And poems to help the children stretch their brains. as well as games and puzzles… and other things to keep the mind sharp. On the final page each month… is an original piece of sheet music, often written by a famous composer. Likewise the poetry is written, specifically for "The Young Ladies Journal, by famous authors and poets. This unique little journal is in good condition, with a couple of minor flaws, one being chipping along the lower edge, and a bit of soiling on the outside pages.
