Wood type unknown, but look at its rustic nature! No brand name (hallmark) shown, it's likely handmade by a skilled craftsman back in the day. Ideal for formal wear occasions. Victorian cane handles were commonly finished in gold fill or plating over brass, as seen in the deeply engraved lettering under the gold.
