Description: These are three documents associated with a case against Patrick McFadden, yeoman who "did unlawfully commit an assault and battery upon a certain Delia McClure with intent forcibly and against the will of her the said Delia McClure to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her the said Delia McClure contrary to the form of the statute in each case made and provided and against the peace and dignity of this Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."Wm. H. Hart The above came from an indictment dated July 7, 1879. Bail was set at $300 by Fred. Dorman. The second document is a letter written and signed by Delia McClure as follows: Lycoming CountyCity of Williamsport Before me the subscriber an alderman in and for the aforesaid county and city, Personally came Delia McClure of the aforesaid County who being duly sworn according to law did depose and say that on the evening of July 7th, 1879 at the county aforesaid one Patrick McFaddin of the city aforesaid did willfully commit an assault and batter on deponent with intent forcibly and against deponent will to have unlawful carnal knowledge of deponent. And further deponent saith not. Delia McClure Sword and subscribed before me the subscriber an alderman July 8th, A.D. 1879A.H. Stead The third document is the Commonwealth's Bill of Costs against Patrick McFaddin. It is dated Oct. 1879 and signed by Wm. W. Hart, district attorney. Persons to be paid were alderman A.H.
