This work contains a chronology of Shakespeare's life, his will, and the dedication prefixed to the folio. Next is the collection of his plays, poems and sonnets. There is a portrait frontispiece of Shakespeare, followed by twenty one plates containing images of paintings of Shakespearean performances, including paintings by William Peters, James Northcote, Richard Westall, and James Barry. These plates are all woodbury type. The editorial is by Mary and Charles Cowden Clarke.
