Description: Offered here is a detailed etching on chine colle by the talented German printmaker, Carl Ernst Forberg (1844-1915). The work is a proof etching (as indicated by the pencil notation on the front of the sheet) likely for the publication Stammbuch Der National-Galerie, published in Berlin in 1880. Forberg's monogram "EF" and the date 1878 are in the upper right corner of the etching. The subject is Christian Kroner, a German painter (1838-1911), whose signature is in the plate. The dimensions of the etching itself (platemarks) are 2 3/4 inches in height by 2 5/8 inches in width. The backing sheet is 11 7/8 inches by 8 3/8 inches. This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Please read the condition description carefully and review the photographs. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. I do my best to accurately describe the items being sold, but if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
