Jan. 12 1886 “ Indian wars Spanish American war era good displayable condition Decent original black paint on the metal scabbard body No rust or dents The leather frog shows it’s age , Quite Dry and flaking Age cracks & flexing Maybe it could be improved with some form of leather treatment this came out of a defunct G.A.R. Hall, many years ago it was probably used in parades and ceremonies by civil war / Indian wars & Spanish American war veterans this can be used with a typical Springfield model 1855 civil war bayonet , And the later Springfield model 1873 trapdoor rifle bayonet the various federal and state issued Remington rolling block rifles ( in addition to the scarce and elusive Winchester musket socket bayonet ) Hard to find in this condition ! NOT the typical rusty - dented piece of junk , you normally see being offered Don’t pass it up Real 1800’s United States military issue !
