Cody) from his "Wild West Show" during his European tour in 1887Born in Scott, County, Iowa in the year 1846, William Cody became a Pony Express rider at age 14. During the next few years he served as a government scout and in 1863, enlisted in the Seventh Kansas Cavalry to fight Indians. Cody left the cavalry at the end of the Civil War and contracted with the Kansas Pacific R.R. to furnish buffalo meat to the railroad workers, thereby earning his nickname "Buffalo Bill." He was an army scout again from 1868 to 1872, when he was elected to the Nebraska legislature. He served in the 5th U.S. Cavalry in the Sioux War of 1876, and during the Battle of Indian Creek, killed in personal combat, Chief Yellow Hand. In 1883, Cody organized his "Wild West Show", a representation of life on the American plains, and in 188? (the date of this figure) took the show on a tour of Europe. In 1901, he became president of the Cody Military College and International Academy of Rough Riders; which was established on his lands in Wyoming. By the time of his death in 1917, William Cody was also a well established author writing many books describing his life on the frontier.William Frederick Cody (2/26/1846 – 1/10/1917), aka Buffalo Bill, was an American soldier, bison hunter, and showman. One of the most famous and well-known figures of the American Old West, Cody started his legend at the young age of 23. Shortly thereafter he started performing in shows that displayed cowboy themes and episodes from the frontier and Indian Wars. He founded Buffalo Bill's Wild West in 1883, taking his large company on tours in the United States and, beginning in 1887, in Europe.Your shipment will arrive via USPS Priority Mail (1-4 business days) or USPS Ground Advantage (2-5 business days), after the 2-3 day processing time (upon paid purchase)Shipment(s) sent out of Lemon Grove, California, USAWE CAN COMBINE-SHIP - ASK US FIRST!Will be packed very well - READ OUR FEEDBACK!No Returns ***AN INVOICE WILL BE SENT AFTER PURCHASE, WHICH MAY REFLECT A MORE ACCURATE POSTAGE RATE FOR THIS ITEM - DON'T PASS THIS UP YET!
