Description: Offered here is a circular/broadside dated "Philadelphia, September 10th, 1863" announcing the products available, with prices, from Charles T. Wilson, Produce Commission Merchant, No. 135 Market Street. The circular was printed by John W. Wallace, located at the time at 31 South Third Street, Philadelphia. In 1866, Wallace joined Samuel T. Linaweaver to form the long-lasting (until 1911) steam-powered book and job printing firm, Linaweaver & Wallace. The circular shows the products that Wilson wished to purchase from the countryside farmers and the prices he was willing to pay in the midst of the Civil War, September 1863, three months after the Battle of Gettysburg and two months before the Gettysburg Address was delivered. This broadside is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
